vol.46 City Worker with [Editor Kim Seok Jun]

Editor Kim Seok Jun

Q. 1. What do you do currently?

A. I work as an editor at The Edit.
I write, take product photos, wrap up one newsletter every week, and occasionally appear on our YouTube channel. I also source guest editors and plan content.

Q. Do you have any personal principles when it comes to your work?

A. I make content I’m not ashamed of.
That applies both ethically and in terms of quality.
If a piece of content has no clear distinction in this vast world, I don’t begin.
As a creator, starting something without that differentiation would feel embarrassing.
There’s already enough factory-produced content out there I don’t want to add myself to that line.

Q. What do “work” and “city life” mean to you, Seokjun?

A. If you asked me to live outside the city for a month, I think I could.
But if it were longer than that, I’m not so sure.
I was born in the countryside, but perhaps because of that, I’ve come to love the nature of the city.

To borrow the words of novelist Kim Jung Hyuk, I’d like to put it this way:
“I like this vulgar city. I will live here.”

Work allows me to sustain that life, while also revealing who I am most clearly.
The meaning of being an editor feels like finding the single word in a 1,000-page Korean dictionary that best represents who I am.

Q. When you see a product, what makes you say “wow”?

A. I rarely say “wow” when looking at a product.
In the end, a product’s essence lies in how it works when it functions properly and the experience is satisfying, I smile and think,
“Ah, this is something I should introduce.”

Q. Do you feel that way about the RAWROW products you use as well?

A. Yes, I do. I’ve used many RAWROW products from eyewear to bags and I still use them today. The City Walker is no exception.
I’m drawn to brands and products that explore the essentials, and the City Walker seems to have everything someone who works would appreciate.
Its design works with a wide range of outfits, and its practicality makes it a great daily bag.
It easily fits the laptop and camera an editor needs, and the separate pockets are something I really like.

Q. Could you describe the RAWROW City Walker in one line?

A. A daily bag for editors.
